Ll’ ALICI
“Che se dìce? 'E Ssard se magnan ll'alice”
Literally translated as “What’s up? The sardines eats the anchovies”, is a funny neapolitan pun used conversantionally.
World-famous, as well as lemon’s crop here in Amalfi Coast, is the fishing for this amazing bluefish, versatile and very common in our recipes.
Cetara, small fishermen village located few chilometers from Minori, is famous for the manufacturing of any product derivate of this fish, mostly for the “colatura di alici” (literally anchovy dripping) that is a fish sauce made with the fermentation of the anchovies with salt, worthy successor of the “garum” made by the Romans in ancient times, and still today used in many local dishes.
The anchovies are the twinkle that you see on the ridge of the sea during a boat trip, they are the smell of saltiness that you get walking around the town, they are apparently a humble food but can be used to make king’s meals.
This room is like the anchovies, simple but worthy, can give you a comfortable and cozy stay,
hosting up to 4 persons with 2 extra single beds.
The tiles made from Marco Fusco (renowned ceramist from Minori) mix the yellow of our lemons and a shoal of anchovies, both gastronomi heritage of the area and our biggest pride.
In the restroom you will find a courtesy set with gel shower, shampoo, hair conditioner and soap, hairdryer, vanity set, shower cap and towels set.
The room has also flatscreen tv, private air conditioning and kettle with tea and infusions.
This room is the perfect solution for all families that wants to enjoy a stay in Amalfi Coast in full Minori style.
